A thread of wind runs through this record, evoking Ngen-kürüf, the spirit of the air in Mapuche cosmology. Across eight compositions, Chilean guitarist Álvaro Severino reimagines the musical geography of South America through the lens of memory, distance and migration.
Joropo, chacarera, cueca, vidala, huayno, Afro-Peruvian landó, jazz harmony and contemporary music intertwine in a deeply personal language. Joined by musicians from New York, Bogotá and Santiago de Chile, Severino transforms these traditions into a space of integration and introspection, tracing a journey from the landscapes of his homeland toward the intimacy of his own sound.
6 Studies for Electric Guitar is a series of miniatures conceived as both technical and compositional studies. The pieces explore harmonic and instrumental possibilities derived from Olivier Messiaen’s Mode 3, reflecting Álvaro Severino’s ongoing research into the guitar’s inner workings and its potential as a compositional tool.
Beyond their experimental character, the studies are intended as material for other guitarists to explore, adapt and use as a point of departure for their own development on the instrument.

Music for Dance / Theatre
“mírate a través de mi / Schau durch mich auf dich” is a musical work by Álvaro Severino, created for a contemporary dance production directed by Camila Scholtbach and based on eight texts by Judith Grytzka.
Each composition emerges from the encounter between word, body and sound, exploring intimacy, tenderness, memory, loss and the subtle gestures that shape human connection. Blending electronic textures, acoustic resonances, voice and silence, the music does not illustrate the texts but listens and responds to them, creating a shifting emotional space in dialogue with movement.
Originally conceived for the stage, the work also stands on its own as an electroacoustic soundscape—a journey through the spaces between people, where sound becomes a path toward memory and touch.
